Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains what Wichita County Inmate Population collects when visitors use the site, send a message, click an outside locator, or run a partner search. By using the site, visitors accept the collection, use, and sharing practices described here.

Information Visitors Provide

Search Terms

When a visitor enters a name, place, or other query into a sponsored search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Wichita County Inmate Population does not keep its own separate log of those search terms.

Messages

If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the message and reply address may be kept long enough to answer the request and manage the correspondence. Messages are not shared outside the operating organization unless a valid legal duty requires it.

Automatic Technical Data

Like most websites, this site receives basic technical details when a page loads. These details help keep the site usable, detect errors, and understand broad traffic patterns.

  • IP address.
  • Browser name and version.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and time spent on those pages.
  • Referring website, if one is available.
  • Date and time of the visit.

Cookies

Cookies and similar tools may be used to measure site use, remember basic preferences, support ads, and help features work. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, but some pages or partner tools may behave differently after cookies are disabled.

How Data Is Used

The information described above is used for basic site operation and measurement.

  • To keep the site available, stable, and fast.
  • To route search requests to the partner service that receives them.
  • To understand which Wichita County jail, court, and facility pages are useful.
  • To find broken links, page errors, and security issues.
  • To display advertising that may be tied to general visitor interests.

Outside Links and Laws

This site links to sheriff pages, jail rosters, TDCJ, BOP, ICE, VINELink, court portals, statutes, and third-party search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the privacy notice and terms of that outside site control its collection and use of data.

Texas Government Code Chapter 552, the Texas Public Information Act, controls many requests made to Texas public agencies. It does not control how private search partners or advertising systems process data on their own services.

Advertising partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to measure ads or show interest-based ads across websites. That tracking happens on their systems and under their policies.

Who May Receive Data

Personal data is not sold as a standalone customer list. It may be received by limited parties that help run, measure, advertise, or legally protect the site.

  • Search partners that process submitted queries.
  • Analytics providers that measure traffic and page use.
  • Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
  • Law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or similar legal process requires disclosure.

Security Practices

Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect data handled through the site. No internet-connected service can be made fully secure, so Wichita County Inmate Population cannot promise that every transmission or stored message is breach-proof.

Adults Only

The site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If a minor submitted information, a parent or guardian may request deletion of that information where reasonably possible.

Privacy Choices

Visitors may contact the site operator about personal data handled by this site.

  • Ask for a copy of personal data held by the site operator.
  • Request correction of wrong contact information.
  • Request deletion where the data is not needed for legal, security, or operational reasons.
  • Opt out of certain processing where applicable law gives that right.

Notice Updates

This Privacy Notice may be revised as site features, partners, or legal requirements change. Updated terms take effect when posted on this page with the current wording.
